Clinical Internship Program
We are now accepting applications for the 2026-2027 internship class.
Colorado LiftED Foundation is partnering with graduate school programs in the fields of Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, and other Mental Health areas to serve as a field placement site for 5 graduate students who are seeking experiential opportunities working with youth and families in communities throughout the Denver Metro area.
The Clinical Internship program is a two-year Internship to Post-Graduate Fellowship Opportunity.
Clinical Intern
Available to 2nd year Master of Social Work & Counseling Graduate Students
Provide direct therapeutic care and management of clients, ages four through adulthood, by developing and implementing treatment plans as well as developing a therapeutic relationship with clients (and families, where applicable) to assist with behavioral health challenges.
Conduct intake interviews and referral connections for clients seeking services.
Opportunities to collaborate, lead, monitor, and co-facilitate educational and therapeutic groups for clients and community members.
This position has a heavy emphasis on clinical methods and practices.
All interns are required to work 20 hours a week and will maintain a caseload of 10-12 clients
We are asking candidates to make a two-year commitment with the plan to transition to an Associate Behavioral Health Therapist upon successful completion of their Master program
Associate Behavioral Health Therapist (A-BHT)
Available to early career clinicians seeking clinical experience and hours toward licensure
Provide direct therapeutic care and management of clients, ages four through adulthood, by developing and implementing therapeutic treatment plans as well as developing a therapeutic relationship with clients (and families, where applicable) to assist with behavioral health challenges
Maintain a caseload of a minimum of 12 clients with a maximum of 20 clients (depending on the amount of hours worked each week).
Opportunities to collaborate, lead, monitor, and co-facilitate educational and therapeutic groups for clients and community members
Aids in the professional development of the intern cohort through the co-facilitate of group supervision and other opportunities
The A-BHT position has a minimum expectation of working 20 hours a week
